Technology and Media – 12
Amazon: Announced plans to cut 14,000 corporate roles in October 2025, following a previous reduction of 30,000 jobs in October.
Intel: Conducted mass layoffs in July, cutting more than 5,000 U.S. employees as part of a restructuring plan, particularly affecting its Foundry division.
Microsoft: In July, the company laid off approximately 9,000 employees, about 4% of its global workforce, with earlier cuts happening in January and May.
Meta: Citing a shift toward leaner AI teams, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram laid off 600 employees from its AI unit in October, following other rounds of job cuts earlier in the year.
Salesforce: Cut 4,000 customer support jobs in September, with the CEO citing AI adoption as a contributing factor.

Cisco: Cisco has announced plans to cut around 4,250 jobs, or 5% of its workforce, as part of a major restructuring, adding that it is focusing on growth areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud networking.
Google: Eliminated dozens of roles across its cloud, Android, and Pixel divisions to reallocate funds toward AI research.
Paramount Global: Laid off about 2,000 workers due to streaming losses and declining ad revenue.
Chegg: The online education company cut its workforce by 45%, or 388 roles, in October, attributing the cuts to the rise of AI and reduced traffic from Google.
HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise): Reduced its employee base by 5%, cutting 2,500 jobs over 12 to 18 months.
Bumble: In June, the dating app announced it would cut 30% of its workforce, about 240 roles.
Applied Materials: The semiconductor company announced it would cut 4% of its global workforce, affecting about 1,444 employees.
Professional Services and Logistics – 6
UPS: Announced 48,000 job cuts in October, including 34,000 operational positions, as it navigates automation and a reduction in Amazon deliveries.
PwC: Cut 5,600 jobs globally, including 1,500 in the U.S., citing low employee turnover and a push toward AI integration.
Accenture: Laid off thousands of employees as it focused on AI capabilities and digital transformation.
Big Four accounting Firms: In addition to PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, and EY also announced significant workforce reductions in 2025 due to market shifts and efficiency pressures.

Ford: Cut up to 13,000 jobs to accelerate its transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
Chevron: Plans to reduce its global headcount by 15% to 20% by the end of 2026, which could eliminate up to 9,000 jobs.
